About Me
 Some things that Interest me:

As you can see it is still under construction so therefore I will be adding to the site as the seasons change.  During the summer you will find most of the talk will be about ridding motorcycles in the area.  When you stop by the store and share a story or two I may highlight your idea or story that you share.

Later in the year I will be putting the emphases on hunting and some of the programs that the game dept. is promoting.  I will try to give you an idea of how the elk and deer have faired the winter and what the elk calve crop is for the year.

There are those who want you to think that the hunters are the reason for the decrease in the elk population - most of these kind live in the Willamette Valley and have spent no or very little time in the woods.  The facts according to how I see it from living here is we have to many cats in this area.  During the hunting season I get reports almost everyday of not only seeing cats, but how the cats are getting use to people and are losing their fear of man.  Therefore many of the cats are facing down the hunter and several of the cats have been dispatched because of it.  In fact last year one of the state officers told me that 4 of the cats had been hit on the interstate.  Now I ask you - how many cats have you seen on the interstate let alone being hit on the interstate?  The officer laughed and said "I think we have a cat problem".

I have spent a good deal of my life in the woods and it was very seldom that you would see a cat, but since I have move back to the eastern side of the state I have seen 5 of them in brood daylight.  A friend of mine who dose some of the studies on wild life here on the east side told me the other day he had to hit a cat with a stick before it would leave him alone.  Now I call that close combat.
