Some of the La Grande bikers out for a tour of the back country.  Like I said in the opening we have some of the best roads to ride in the USA.  Ask for one of the maps and you will have 1000's of miles to ride.

       This is one of Bud's rides leaving Joseph Oregon.  We made a pit stop here for fuel and some refreshments.  Joseph is really and nice place to visit and spend some time in.  There is a lot to see and plenty of places to spend some money to help the local economy.  We left Joseph for Hells Canyon.  What a ride.

 2008 Starkey Motorcycle Campout / Bar-B-Q

This years Campout will be the 3rd. weekend in July.  Starting on Friday the 18th. through Sunday morning the 20th.

There is a Bar-B-Q Friday about 6 PM, a Saturday morning pancake and egg breakfast.  Several rides laid out with maps. Saturday evening Bar-B-Q .  Music at the bon fire with a lot of biker and ride talk.  Sunday morning ride to a local Eatery and the start of the trip back home.

We are having a July 1 cut off for pre registration.  Which means you will have to be signed up by July 1 to get in on the Food, Shirt, & ride Pin.   Your $40.00 registration will include - both Bar-B-Qs the Saturday breakfast - Ride "T" shirt and ride stick pin.

For those who would like to just do short rides and come back to the camp area  the Starkey Deli will be open for food and drink at your own expense.

The roads are Mt. roads with lots of curves.  Not a whole lot of car traffic, but you do have to keep your eyes open for the cars along with the wildlife that include - Deer, Elk, Bear, Cougar, and numerous smaller creatures.  These roads are not for the beginner rider because the curves are unpredictable as far as the speeds you ride them.  We urge that you ride in your own comfort level.

This is a picture of some elk crossing the road right in front of the Starkey Station. Since the calves are still spotted, this is early summer. Notice how long the spike's antlers are already! (3rd elk from right)

This is a common site here in Starkey. You never know when the animals will show, but no matter when they show, it is always nice to see them.

This little guy helped keep the lawn in shape.

In the evening time this is the usual sight we see as the sun is setting over the hill. The colors are brilliant, and to a camera buff like me it is hard to pass up taking pictures.

Here we have some of the riders that were at the 2005 Starkey Motorcycle Campout and Bar-B-Q. The 2006 Campout promises to be big.

Because this area is such a great place to ride we have lots of bikers stop by the store on different bike runs.

Here we have the 2005 Muddy Frog Water Bike Run which originated in Milton-Freewater, OR. Starkey Station is their first stop on this 350 mile annual motorcycle event.
